Visiting Mokena Baptist Church

Visiting any church for the very first time can be a tough experience. Well, we want to put you at ease. Your first visit to Mokena Baptist will be refreshing, friendly, and enjoyable for your whole family. We want you to experience inspiring music, helpful teaching and preaching, friendly people, and a place where you feel welcome and “at home”! For starters, we’re not a mega-church. You won’t need a diagram or map to navigate our “campus.” We are a church where you will be near everything and be greeted by everyone. We are a family and are passionate about church being an inviting experience that doesn’t feel like a sporting event or trip to the mall. Here are a few answers to your questions and what you might expect on your first visit.

When Are Your Services?

Sunday School

10:15 am

Begins April 4, 2016

Sunday Morning Service

11:00 am

Sunday Evening Service

5:00 pm

Through the heart-warming, conservative music and the clear, Bible teaching and preaching in our services, your heart will be inspired to love and to respond to God. Each week, families are strengthened, encouraged, and drawn closer to Him through these special times together. Each service is prayed over so that God may work in your life! You won’t be blinded by our laser light show or deafened by our band. We believe church should be timeless experience and a place where the Word of God is the main event.

How to Get to Mokena Baptist Church

What to Expect

Mokena Baptist Church is tucked in a serene setting amidst all of the busyness of our area. Once you turn down 187th Street our entrance is located on the left side of the road just past Nova Quarter Horse Farm. Ample parking is available and the entire building is on one level making it extremely handicap accessible.

Everyone begins in the auditorium as we sing and fellowship together. Before the message children ages 4-12 are dismissed to a special junior church where a lesson is taught to their understanding and the foundation of their faith can be built. The music is always followed by a clear, helpful, and challenging Bible message from Pastor McCurdy. This service is usually one hour in length. Also, at 10:15, there is Sunday School for all ages. Adults meet in the main auditorium for a practical Bible lesson while children and teens enjoy Sunday School classes for their age.

Where Do I Take My Children?

We are grateful for a great group of children who attend and visit Mokena Baptist Church each week. Our goal is to not simply make church a place of fun but also a place where the foundational truths from God’s word are being taught at a very young age.

Once you enter the building a greeter can direct you to the entrance to our nursery. Clean, well staffed nurseries are available for children ages birth thru 3 years of age.

Greeters can also help in directing you to Sunday School for each child. During the morning services we all begin together in the main auditorium. This gives families the opportunity to sing and worship the Lord together. Before the message children are dismissed to junior church. Again, our facilities are designed so that you will have no trouble finding your kids, seeing where they will meet and getting to know the people who will be teaching them.

How Should I Dress?

There is not a dress code at Mokena Baptist Church for members or guests. Many of our church family dress in more traditional “Sunday” dress; however, our main goal is that you would feel welcome and comfortable.
